We are excited to unveil the detailed programme for the SICAMM Conference 2025, taking place from 27th to 30th March 2025 in the picturesque city of Stavanger, Norway. This conference promises to be a landmark event, celebrating 30 years of dedication to the conservation of the dark European honey bee, Apis mellifera mellifera.

Day 1: 27th March 2025
- Registration: Begins at 10 am, followed by the opening ceremony featuring welcoming remarks from the SICAMM Main Board and Norwegian organizers.
- Practical Beekeeping: Sessions include insights on bee improvement and the history of Norwegian Amm and SICAMM.
- Bee Breeding: Learn about managing genetic variation in black bees and practical methods for producing bees and queens.
- Reports from Fennoscandia & the Baltic: Updates from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Lithuania on Amm conservation efforts.
- Breaking the Ice: A book presentation and an exhibition of posters, followed by networking opportunities over drinks and snacks.
Day 2: 28th March 2025
-Biology and Genetics of Amm: Discussions on discriminating between native and non-native honeybees, genetic monitoring, and characterization of the Norwegian dark bee population
- Conservation of Endangered Honey Bee Taxa: Presentations on conservation strategies in Ireland, the Netherlands, and Malta.
- Reports from Central Europe: Updates from Germany, Austria, Poland, and Switzerland on Amm conservation initiatives.
Day 3: 29th March 2025
- Honeybee Health & Fitness: Sessions on identifying varroa-resistant traits, selection techniques, and health challenges in Amm populations.
- Reports from Benelux and France: Insights from Belgium, the Netherlands, and various regions of France.
- Honey Bee Miscellany: Discussions on honey quality, apitherapy, and more.
- Reports from the UK & Republic of Ireland: Updates from England, Wales, and Ireland.
